SHILLONG: Home Minister James Sangma said on Thursday the government would “get to the root” of the petrol bomb attack on the office of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to ascertain whether it was linked to the recent unrest in the city.
Talking to media persons here on Thursday, Sangma said though the situation is calm now, there was a need to find out why the MPSC secretary’s room was targeted. Miscreants threw petrol bomb at the MPSC office on Tuesday morning.
When asked about the case filed by Harijan Panchayat Committee in the High Court against the formation of the High Level Committee on relocation, Sangma said the government “is sincere to find a solution” after taking all stakeholders into consideration and there would always be some hiccups.
When asked if the case filed by the Harijan Panchayat Committee showed their lack of trust in the government, the minister said, “It is not like that… it has to be understood that the government is not depriving anybody and it wants to consider all the stakeholders’ views.”
