SHILLONG: The governor on Friday approved the names of nine executive members of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and also fixed July 24 for the election of the chairman.
The executive members whose names are on the list are UDP MDCs Antonio War, Donkupar Sumer and Rona Khymdeit, People’s Democratic Front MDCs James Sylliang, Blanding Warjri and Latiplang Kharkongor and NPP MDCs Jansing Tynsong, Victor Rani and Independent MDC Ricky Shullai.
When contacted, KHADC chief executive member HS Shylla said the portfolios will be decided on Monday. “The notification for the election of the chairman of the KHADC on July 24 is also issued and filing of nomination is on July 23,” he added.
