Meghalaya enhances grant-in-aid to pre-primary teachers

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Cabinet which met here on Wednesday, decided to enhance the  grant-in-aid to  government and  non-government pre-primary school teachers to Rs 12,000  per month.

Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong told reporters that there were  710  teachers who are teaching in pre-primary level and the government had  extended the grant in aid to the teachers since the year  2012.

The enhanced grant in aid will be effective from 1st August, 2018 and  the Government would have to incur more than Rs  5  crores annually as additional expenditure for the purpose.
