MPSC to follow strict measures for MCS prelims

SHILLONG: To ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of that Part A-Preliminary Examination to the post of Meghalaya Civil Service (Junior Grade), the Meghalaya Public Service Commission has gone ahead to follow strict measures.
Speaking to reporters, the Secretary of MPSC, WAM Booth said that she has requested the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills on August 2 to depute videographers to record on camera the prelims for recruitment to the post of Meghalaya Civil Services, Junior Grade.
Again, in West Garo Hills District, the Secretary has requested the DC to depute six magistrates to perform duties of Supervisors and maintenance of law and order in the examination centre.
She said, “It is the first time that magistrates will be deputed as Supervisors.
The DCs have agreed to depute videographers to record on camera the examination.”
She added that the Government has appointed observers for the examination who are in-charge with the responsibility to ensure that the examination is being conducted in a smooth manner.
She said, “The candidates who are appearing for the examination will be frisked before they enter the examination hall.”
She further added no candidate will also be allowed to enter the examination hall half an hour after the commencement of the examination.
The preliminary examination for recruitment to the post of MCS, Junior Grade will be on August 4.The examinations will be held in Shillong in East Khasi Hills and Tura in West Garo Hills.
Booth informed that more than 10,000 candidates who will sit for the preliminary examination and a total number of 46 persons with disabilities will appear for the examination.
