CEO reviews by-election preparation in Ranikor

MAWKYRWAT: Chief Election Officer FR Kharkongor visited South West Khasi Hills district on Wednesday to review preparedness for the by-election to Ranikor on August 23.
Kharkongor met the district election officer, the returning officer, SP and other officials at Laitlawsang to find out about polling personnel training, EVM and VVPAT management, enforcement of the model code of conduct and also law and order.
The CEO also interacted with sector officers to assess the assured minimum facilities at polling stations and accessibility, amongst other things.
Others who were present during the meeting were Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo, the additional deputy commissioner in-charge of Ranikor civil sub division and other district officials.
