TURA: The Garo Hills Catholic Union, Tura Diocese, has strongly condemned the recent order of the Union Minister Maneka Gandhi to initiate inquiry into all centres and institutions run by the Missionaries of Charity in India.
The order was given following a news report in which a missionary sister belonging to Nirmal Hriday in Ranchi was the prime accused in a child trafficking case.
The union, while condemning the unfortunate incident of the alleged trafficking, has urged the Centre to intervene and revoke the order.
“It will be unlawful and inhumane from the side of the government to disturb the peaceful co-existence. Therefore, we would sincerely like to request the central government for intervention and revoke the order,” it said.
