RG stresses parent-teacher meet to address issues

SHILLONG: The Lady Keane College Parent Teacher Association (LKCPTA) on Saturday held its annual general meeting in the college auditorium wherein parents and teachers took active part in the discussions and deliberations over the subjects related to the affairs of the college, its students and parents.
Former Vice Chancellor of Martin Luther Christian University RG Lyngdoh graced the occasion as chief guest and spoke on the importance of having a PTA which can take up any “problems faced by students and at the same time parents’ means of approaching the college authority,” be it in trying to find solutions to problems or giving suggestions to further improve the college.
On the occasion, Dr RJ Nongrum, member Counseling Cell, Internal Quality Assessment Cell of the college gave a special address to parents on how to deal with problems faced by students and what parents should do when they face the problems with their wards.
Lamlin Riahtam was unanimously elected as the new president of LKCPTA, replacing the outgoing president RN Rymbai, while Alansius Lynshing replaced AA Wankhar as Treasurer. Other Executive Members are Rakibor Rahman, Bhupen Syiem, and Diningroy Marwein. Their term will last until their wards leave the college.
