SHILLONG: Police arrested three persons while they were trying to deliver suspected heroin to an inmate in Shillong District jail in the city.
James D Marbaniang, Jailor, District Jail, Shillong lodged a complaint that on Monday at about 2.45 pm, during visiting hours , Jail Warders apprehended three visitors Saidali Ali, Kasimuddin and Jurdy Ali
The jail staffs recovered from their possession a white colour paper containing yellow orange powder suspected to be heroin along with eatables items packed in a polythene bag to be delivered for an inmate, Haider Ali.
Police arrested the trio and seized the suspected drugs.
