SHILLONG: The Ri-Bhoi Students Union will file a Public Interest Litigation before the High Court for stay of the construction of the Umsning Bypass soon after the court resumes the holiday period.
Meanwhile, the headmen and representatives of the landowners in Umsning who favor the introduction of the four laning from the existing highway (NH 40) has sought the report of the Fact Finding Committee on the four lane at Umsning conducted on October 22-24, 2011 and for which the said report was submitted to the State Government on October 27, 2011 under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
