SHILLONG: Health Minister AL Hek will meet the functionaries of HCG Cancer Centre in Bengaluru on September 3 to operate the cancer wing at Shillong Civil Hospital.
Speaking to reporters, Hek said on Friday that he would hold the meeting in the southern city to explore the possibility of having a partnership with the Bengaluru-based centre to run the caner wing here.
The state government has not been able to operate the cancer wing, construction of which began 10 years ago.
On the night of September 3, Hek and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will also meet Union Health Minister JP Nadda in Delhi to apprise the minister of the current problems at NEIGRIHMS.
