Construction of drain
The Meghalaya Urban Affairs Department has informed that it will undertake the construction of the drain near Don Bosco Square, Laitumkhrah under the JNNURM.The digging and excavation work will begin soon which may cause inconvenience and obstruction to the commuters and passersby. The general public is requested to bear with the inconvenience.
New office bearers
The Durbar Shnong Lawsohtun has elected new office bearers for the year 2012 which included Tonwell Rynjah as the Rangbah Shnong, Lamkhraw Kharbuli as the secretary, Devison Swer as the assistant secretary, Heriberth Rynjah as the treasurer, Mitchel Wankhar as the adviser, Kolester Rynjah and Raymond Nongrum as the auditor and other 12 members of the executive committee of the durbar shnong.
Condemned
The MeECL Accounts Association in its emergent Executive Committee meeting held onMonday condemned the abduction of two MeECL engineers at Rongkhon and has appealed the abductors to release them unharmed immediately on humanitarian ground. The association has also sympathized with the families of the two engineers.
Dead body
An unknown male dead body was found lying at the roadside near Urban Affairs Parking Lot recently. Inquest of the dead body has been done on the spot and later removed to Shillong Civil Hospital for holding post mortem examination. The body has been kept in Civil Hospital Morgue room for identification.
