368 cases disposed of by National Lok Adalat

SHILLONG: Around 368 cases, including pre-litigation and pending criminal and civil cases as well as matters related to default of payment of loans to banks and other related cases, were disposed of by various courts and the settlement in terms of money to the tune of Rs 1,40,06,121 during the National Lok Adalat on Saturday.
The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority under the patronage and guidance of Chief Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, patron-in-chief, with active support of its executive chairman, Justice SR Sen conducted the National Lok Adalat.
The Adalat is held under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority in the High Court of Meghalaya, all district courts as well as sub-divisional courts and also in all district council courts.
