Massive landslide cuts off Sikkim by road

GUWAHATI: Thousands of tourists have been stranded in various parts of Sikkim including the capital city Gangtok because of a massive landslide that occurred at 29th Mile on the NH-10 that connects the tiny Himalayan state to the rest of the country by road.

An official source in Gangtok informed that the landslide had occurred on Thursday morning and the vehicular traffic along the highway has been totally disrupted. The official couldn’t say as to when the traffic along the highway could be restored.
