ICFAI university holds N J Yasaswy memorial lecture

TURA: In order to commemorate the founder of the ICFAI Group, Late N J Yasaswy (1950-2011), the ICFAI University, Tura Campus organised a special lecture under the theme ‘N J Yasaswy Memorial Lecture, 2018’ at its main campus in Tura on Tuesday.

Former Pro Vice Chancellor of NEHU and ICFAI Universities, Dr Milton S Sangma who was the Chief Guest on the occasion spoke about the difficulties faced in establishing educational institutions in the beginning in the region.

Basing his address on ‘Beginning and Expansion of Education in Garo Hills’, Sangma highlighted the history and development of education in Garo Hills and how they came into being. Sangma also motivated the students to focus on the knowledge of their subjects as simply possessing the degree is not enough.

Dean of the University, Viola Sonachi B Sangma also spoke a few words of motivation to the students urging them to be dedicated individuals in life.
