IMPHAL: A student body of the state has alleged that the recently-held state civil services examinations conducted by Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) was stage-managed to appoint some already selected candidates.

Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) president LC Santosh said the main examinations began on February 6 last. ‘The candidates found foul play in the examination process,’ he added. He said question papers of 2005 for English literature Paper I and Paper II were used this year. Almost everything was identical except the marking system, he alleged. ‘Some students have also knocked the door of the court and the students’ body will support them,’ he said. DESAM demanded that the state civil services examinations should be done in consultation with the relevant authorities. (UNI)
