Pressure group for upgrade of Markasa PHC

SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM), Mawthadraishan circle urged Health Minister, AL Hek to upgrade Markasa Public Health Centre (PHC) to Community Health Centre (CHC).
Speaking to reporters after meeting the minister, president of the circle, Kharlessbon Nongbri said that the upgradation of the PHC will serve the growing needs of the public.
Markasa PHC was established in 1985 operating in 52 villages. The PHC has four sub-centres –Laitkseh, Marngor, Mawlangsu, Mawlangkhar. Nongbri said Hek is willing to upgrade the PHC and will send his officers to inspect the place.
