Gujarat invites Conrad to Statue of Unity unveiling

SHILLONG: A delegation led by Kishor Kanani, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Gujarat government, met Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in his office chamber and invited him to the inauguration of Statue of Unity on October 31.
The Statue of Unity in Gujarat is a monument dedicated to Vallabhbhai Patel, the first deputy prime minister of India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the 182-meter statue at a function to be attended by chief ministers of the country.
An official source said on Monday that Sangma is yet to confirm his visit to Gujarat as he has to attend another programme in Imphal on October 31.
