SHILLONG: An eight-member delegation led by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh reached Delhi on Monday to leave for Paris on Wednesday to take part in a food innovation summit.
The delegation comprising state agricultural officers will be in Paris for six days to explore further on Meghalaya Remie textile product innovation at the invitation of the French Embassy in India.
Earlier this year, the French Embassy had organised an event in Delhi where over 17 designers brought out different designs using Meghalaya Remie fabric. The French industry is keen on this product.
The team will also take part in the Global Food Marketplace (Salon International de l’alimentation, or SIAL) that will witness 7,020 companies from more than 109 countries presenting their products to retail and foodservice professionals. All types of food products, from ingredients, equipment to end products, will be on show across 21 exhibition sectors.
