JOWAI: The All Jaintia Youth Welfare Organisation (AJYWO) has asked the JHADC to shut down all illegal shops operated by non-tribals without valid trading licenses issued by the Taxation department of the JHADC.
RTI findings revealed that 2785 trading licences were issued by the JHADC till date out of which 321 were already invalid.
Quoting the RTI reply, AJYWO president MH Dkhar said, “As per the RTI there are 2400 invalid licences which they failed to renew.”
“We ask the concerned authority to check all illegal traders and take appropriate action against offenders,” the AJYWO said while adding that they would follow the matter closely.
