State alerts airports after swine flu diagnosis

SHILLONG: The state government alerted Airports Authority of India in Guwahati, Umroi airport and the Managing Director of Pawan Hans Helicopter service on Thursday, a day after two women were admitted in a city hospital and tested positive for swine flu (H1N1) virus.
The women are undergoing treatment and others who are suspected to have come in contact with them have been treated with Tamiflu.
All government and private hospitals have been put on alert along with IEC materials management protocol.
One of the two women is a resident of Shillong and the other is from Mumbai, officials informed.
The woman from Shillong had recently visited Pune and Chennai and was admitted in a private hospital on October 17 while the other woman visited Shillong on October 18 and was admitted in a hospital on October 24.
