NONGPOH: An Inspection Bungalow (IB) of Meghalaya PWD at Umden which was completed a decade ago, was found abandoned during an inspection conducted by MLA of Nongpoh, Mayralborn Syiem on Thursday.
During the inspection it was found out that most of the wooden furniture, ceiling and doors of the building had decayed and required renovation whereas some of the electrical appliances were stolen from the building.
Expressing concern over the non-functional of the building despite being fully completed by the contractor way back in 2008, Syiem said that it was indeed a matter of grave concern and also wastage of public money.
However, Engineers of the PWD who were also present during the inspection assured the local legislator of Nongpoh to renovate the damaged parts of the building within a period of two months in order to facilitate earlier inauguration and make it fully functional.
