SHILLONG: Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh visited the farmers’ market at 5th Mile, Upper Shillong, on Wednesday.
During the inspection, the minister wanted to know about the hardships faced by farmers and see how the market functions. The farmers told him about their grievances.
Lyngdoh said he would find ways to help the farmers bring their produce to the market. Most of the produces are brought from Pomlakrai, Mylliem and Nongkrem.
“I will direct officers from the Agriculture Department to look into the needs of the farmers of this area,” he added.
