2 held for bid to steal mobile tower battery

NONGSTOIN: Two persons have been arrested for attempting to steal a battery bank from Mawshut in West Khasi Hills.
The duo, identified as Bulbul Mawlong (18) and Silbestar Marbaniang (20) of Langstiehrim, were forwarded to court, said Mairang police. Terond Lawriniang, a technician with Bharti Infratel Tech Ltd, lodged a complaint stating that on November 16 around 8 pm, Bulbul, Nicholas Basaiawmoit and Silbestar were caught stealing a battery bank from a mobile tower located at Mawshut in Mairang.
It was also reported that two more persons managed to escape.
Mairang police have registered a case and are on the trail to arrest the others.
