Assault
Aneth Chawte and Chingneikim Simte lodged a joint complaint stating that on October 30 around 9:30pm, Aran Munthong went to their residence in Happy Valley and threatened them with dire consequences. Later, around 10:30 pm, the accused along with Benjamin Zou, George Dim and two others arrived at the complainant’s residence and proceeded to abuse them. The accused also threatened to burn their house and vehicles and rape them. The complainants also stated that Aran Munthong assaulted their female neighbor as well.

Body recovered
On November 21, the body of Labadon Syiem(46) was found inside a shop at Ummawleiñ Mawsawa in West Khasi Hills. Necessary formalities have been observed and the body was handed over to the relatives of the deceased.
On November 20 around 10 pm, the body of an unidentified person was recovered at 3½ Mile in Upper Shillong. The body was later sent to CH Shillong for PM examination.

Fraud
Rama Ramana Padhy, Assistant General Manager, SBI, RASMECC, Shillong lodged complaint stating that Firuza Snaiting had availed a vehicle loan from SBI Rynjah Branch for commercial use. However, the client had failed to submit the RC and insurance copies to the bank. When the bank entrusted an agent to repossesses the vehicle, it was learnt that the vehicle was registered in Manipur under a different name and was sold off.

Suicide
On November 16, a staff nurse committed suicide at her residence in Nongthymmai. Her body was brought to Supercare Hospital by her brother who stayed with her. It was erroneously reported that she was a lab technician and had committed suicide inside the campus on November 18. The error is regretted.
