NGO organises police-public meet on domestic violence

SHILLONG: The North East Network (NEN), a women’s right organisation, conducted an interface meeting between the community and police in Madanrting and Lumdiengjri.
The meeting, which was part of the building community response for survivors of domestic violence in selected areas of East Khasi Hills, was attended by North East Network leaders from Cantonment Area and Seng Kynthei of Madanrting and their respective police stations, women leaders/survivors of violence, youths from Paltan Bazaar and women from Madanrting.
Among the participants were 10 women survivors of violence and three youth from Paltan Bazaar and 20 women from Madanriting.
