SHILLONG: The employees of Food Corporation of India (FCI) will go on hunger strike en masse on Tuesday as part of a nationwide protest over wage revision.
The Bhartiya Khadya Nigam Karmachari Sangh (BKNKS) has said employees will go on strike before all district, zonal and regional offices and FCI headquarters.
In the city, the strike will be at the FCI regional office at Mawlai Mawroh.
BKNKS has petitioned the top management of FCI several times seeking early settlement of wage revision of categories III and IV employees with effect from January 1, 2017, and exclusion of 50 per cent over-time allowance and fringe benefits and other demands related to wage revision.
The nationwide protest started on November 8.
