SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said on Monday the state government is “transparent” even as there are allegations against the NPP working president of East-West Jaintia Hills in the case of assault of two activists.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme, Tynsong said, “Let the law take its own course. Whoever crosses that line will be punished, we don’t spare anyone. We are transparent.” “You cannot say that it is the leader of NPP or Congress or UDP or anybody. Everybody is bound to be within the boundary of law,” he added.
The senior NPP leader said the authorities concerned have to act promptly once they have information and effect arrests. “That is very important, let them arrest and the investigation should start. I will also find out what is happening,” he added.
NPP’s Nidamon Chullet allegedly led the attackers to target activists Agnes Kharshiing and Amita Sangma.
