SHILLONG: The Nongkrem Constituency People’s Forum will felicitate the 29 MDCs of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on Wednesday.
Informing this, Nongkrem MDC who is also the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Chief Executive Member (CEM), HS Shylla said MDCs have displayed unity to support the bills of the KHADC despite party affiliations.
The MDCs gave their support to the KHAD (As Adapted from the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873) Regulation, 2018, the KHAD (The Khasi Social Custom of Lineage) (First Amendment), Bill, 2018, Khasi Hills Autonomous District (Constitution of Subordinate Council of Traditional Chiefs and headmen) Rules, 2018, KHAD (Khasi Social Custom of Clan Administration) Bill, 2018.
On the other hand, Shylla informed that the Shylla clan from Khasi-Jaintia Hills will hold a meeting at Law Kyntang, Mawphlang on Saturday.
He stated that each clan should organize themselves systematically as the KHADC is moving to bring an organization of clan heads called Synjuk ki rangbah kur.
