Buam 2nd highest Indian goal scorer in I-League 2019

SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong’s Phrangki Buam from Jaintia Hills is currently the second highest goal scorer by an Indian Player in the I-League 2018/19 season thus far.
Ranked first (highest Indian Scorer) is Jobby Justin of East Bengal with 7 goals and the second place is shared by Phrangki of Shillong Lajong and Laldanmawia Ralte of East Bengal with four goals.
Phrangki who hails from Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya is the only teenager to score four goals in the I-League 2018/19 season.
The Lajong youngster, who turned 18 last month, played his first I-League match in Shillong Lajong’s first game of the season on 28th October 2018 and has since featured in every I-League game and is now the second highest goal scorer by an Indian player.
On speaking to the Lajong Media, Phrangki Buam said, “Before the I-League kicked off I had set a target for myself that is to score as many goals as possible on my debut season and I am glad that it happened. Although the team has not been getting results in the past matches my main motive is to continue to score many more goals and help my team finish the season in a good position.”
”We are currently preparing for this Saturday’s home game against Real Kashmir and we know the importance of this game and we need the three points. So everyone is working very hard to get that win and carry on that winning momentum until the end of the season”, he concluded.
Shillong Lajong will play their next home game against Real Kashmir FC on January 19 at the JN Stadium Shillong at 5PM.
The tickets will be available at the SSA Counter in Polo Ground on Saturday from 10AM onwards.
