SHILLONG: The implementation of Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) phase IV will start on February 1, Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek said on Sunday.
Speaking to a group of reporters, he said the enrolment for MHIS-IV has started in some pockets of the state.
The MHIS is in convergence with the central health scheme, Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
The state nodal agency of MHIS in December signed the contract with Reliance General Insurance Co Ltd for implementation of MHIS-IV.
The government intends to provide quality health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh to all families of the state barring those of state and central government employees. The benefit of the convergence can be availed at empanelled health facilities both in the state and outside.
