NONGSTOIN: The local zonal committee of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) has decided not to contest the council elections. RS Kharbani, general secretary of PDF Nongstoin Zonal Committee, told reporters that the party has no candidate for the upcoming election after former president LG Nongsiej left the party to join HSPDP as its candidate.
He said they are not ready to name a candidate from the constituency as they have not “fully organised the party”. “We will decide whom to support in the next election,” Kharbani said, adding that they are yet to decide on which political party will best represent the ideology of PDF.
