HANM demands removal of street vendors

SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) has urged minister of urban affairs Hamlet Dohling to remove road side vendors within a month.
Speaking to reporters, HANM president Lamphrang Kharbani said that there were complaints from the people regarding the congestion caused by street vendors.
He added that vendors on the road side were causing a disturbance as the public were finding it difficult to walk and referred to the growing number of street vendors from Khyndai Lad, Bimola point, and Iewduh.
Kharbani said that the vendors should be relocated to another place in order to remedy the congestion.
