SHILLONG: Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council CEM HS Shylla on Friday said that it was his last day in office after serving as the CEM since July last year.
The veteran politician did not contest the council elections this year. In a message to the new MDCs he said: “We believe that the new MDCs will uphold the autonomy of the District Council. Party is party but as MDCs, they should uphold the autonomy of the district council.”
Shylla is also the current president of the conglomeration of clan elders – the Synjuk ki Rangbah Kur ka Bri U Hynniewtrep.
