Base laid for sessions court in WJH

JOWAI: The foundation stone for the construction of the District and Sessions Court Complex at Khliehtyrshi in West Jaintia Hills was laid by Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice, Mohammed Yaqoob in the presence of Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew on Saturday.
Yaqoob lauded the district administration for allotting land for the construction and requested all concerned to expedite ongoing construction for the smooth functioning of all judicial processes.
He also directed the judiciary officers and bar association to provide full support to the litigants.
District Session Judge E Kharumnuid apprised that the District and Session Judge Court is functioning in the DC’s Office and the Complex under construction measured 11.162 acres.
Others present include Deputy Commissioners FM Dopth (EJH) and CP Gotmare (WJH), Superintendents of Police Vivekananda Singh (EJH) and Lakador Syiem (WJH), Secretary, District Legal Services Authority DS Marbaniang, Headman of Khliehtyshi and others.
