Businessman’s bullet-ridden body found in Assam

Jorhat: The bullet-riddled body of a businessman based in Assam was on Saturday found from neighbouring Nagaland.

The body of the businessman, Kailash Agarwal Gonoria (65) was found from Lungling village in Ukha district of Nagaland, the police said.

Gonoria was kidnapped by unidentified miscreants on March 10 from here.

Twelve people, including two women, were arrested in connection with the kidnap.

One of the suspected abductors Nabajyoti Phukan has been arrested and one nine mm pistol, a grenade and 100 rounds of ammunition were recovered, sources said.

The motive behind the crime is likely to be ransom, the police said. (PTI)
