DC’s focus to improve institutional delivery

AMPATI: The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, District Health Society of South West Garo Hills, Ramkumar S on Wednesday convened a brief meeting with the district health authorities and medical officers of nine health facilities to review the status of institutional delivery and discuss ways to improve the system.
During the review meeting, Ramkumar said that institutional delivery is one of the main reasons for the existence of PHCs and CHCs and urged upon the district health authorities to look at areas that need focus for improvement.
In this connection, he also urged upon the DMHO and DIO to focus on such health facilities as well as to take punitive actions against inactive ASHAs.
