SHILLONG: Former minister ECB Bamon from Jaintia Hills rejoined the Congress on Thursday.
After a long stint with the Congress, he had joined the NPP before moving on to BJP and then NCP.
The former CEM of JHADC was welcomed back to the party by state president Celestine Lyngdoh at Congress Bhawan.
Lyngdoh hoped that with the re-entry of Bamon, the party will be strengthened in the state, especially in Jaintia Hills.
MPCC working president James Lyngdoh and Congress MLA Shitlang Pale were also present.
Bamon had unsuccessfully contested from NCP from Mowkaiaw in the last Assembly polls after he was denied ticket by BJP.
In fact, Bamon had quit NPP and joined the BJP in August 2007 with an aim to contest the 2018 Assembly polls from the saffron party.
