SHILLONG: The IG, CRPF has appealed to the electorate of Meghalaya to participate in the parliamentary election in large numbers.
CRPF has been nominated as the nodal security agency in the state of Meghalaya and IG CRPF, NE Sector is the state force coordinator for Meghalaya.
On the eve of the polling day, senior officers of CRPF inspected the strong room at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Polo Ground.
In a statement issued here, the CRPF said elaborate security arrangements have been made with due consultation with the state police and civil administration.
Adequate number of mobiles, flying squads and striking reserves has been planned. For effective coordination amongst all forces, a joint control room has been set up at MPRO, Golflink.
