SHILLONG: Chief Minister and NPP national president Conrad Sangma has denied media reports that some NPP MLAs have worked discreetly to help Congress candidate Vincent Pala win in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. “I don’t think there is any truth in this. I can’t follow every individual,” he said.
He said that in the first meeting of the MDA, clear instructions were given to all MLAs and MDCs that they must work for the common candidate, Jemino Mawthoh.
‘MDA govt will continue’
The chief minister is optimistic that the MDA Government will continue even if there is a change of guard at the Centre.
“We are very clear that MDA Government will continue to work and what will happen in Delhi, it is for the people of the country to decide,” he said.
The results will be announced on May 23.
