Weather
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), has issued a weather  forecast  whereby thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (wind speed of 30-40 kmph), lightning and thunder squall (wind speed of 50-60 kmph) accompanied with lightning is likely to occur at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya from April 19 to 22.

Auction
The auction of seized cattle will be carried out on April 24 at 12 noon at the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Amlarem a release issued here informed.

Award
The government of India will announce the Ashoka Chakra series of Gallantry awards in three three categories: Ashoka Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra. The award will be announced on Independence Day. Intending individuals who desire their names to be recommended to the government for the award are required to send their nominations to the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills on or before April 24.

The State Council of Science Technology and Environment (SCSTE), in association with Vigyan Prasar and AIR will broadcast a science serial consisting of 52 episodes in Khasi language on the theme ‘Jingkylla Ka Suinbneng ha Shityllup ka Pyrthei’ in the ‘AIR FM Jongphi 103.6’ at 9am from April 20. Listeners can send in their feedbacks and answers to questions posted after every episode through SMS to 53010.
