Interaction on NeVA held in Meghalaya Legislative Assembly

SHILLONG: An interaction session was held in Meghalaya Legislative Assembly with MLAS and other officials here in an effort to adopt the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) at the earliest.

The workshop on NeVA was at the Annexe Hall, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in collaboration with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, New Delhi. The workshop will conclude on Thursday.

NeVA is developed on the motto of one nation, one application. Some of the state legislative assemblies have already kept their data in the application.

Joint secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Satya Prakash said NeVA is set to empower legislation which is member centric information. NeVA is the first step to go digital.

Meanwhile, Surendra Nath Tripathi, secretary of Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said the Parliament in the country would be a model for many democracies if it was digitize. He maintained that digitization might not be perfect and that digitization was a slow transformation.
