SHILLONG: The State Government is verifying reports of split in the ANVC which is currently under a tri-partite ceasefire agreement with the Union Government and the Government of Meghalaya.

Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh on Sunday said that the Government is not aware of any split in the ANVC as yet. “We can ascertain the report only after verifying it,” Lyngdoh told The Shillong Times on Sunday.

It may be mentioned that on Friday, a leader from the anti-talk faction of the ANVC had informed that around 300 cadres including top-ranked leaders have joined the anti-talk faction of the ANVC.

When contacted, Meghalaya DGP N Ramchandran also stated that the split reports have to be verified first.
