NEW DELHI: The Centre for Socio- Economic and Political Research (CSEPR), a research institute, has given one seat each to Congress and BJP or its allies in Meghalaya but has not identified the constituencies as yet.
In the North East, the autonomous, multi-disciplinary social, economic and political research institute has predicted 14 seats to NDA and six to Congress or its allies. There are 25 Lok Sabha seats in the North East.
The New Delhi-based CSEPR is a non-partisan, non-political and non-profit organisation working for the benefit of society.
The institute has given as many as eight seats to BJP and its allies in Assam, two in Tripura and one each in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland besides the one in Meghalaya.
The survey predicts no seat for Mizoram and Sikkim for the alliance even though both the ruling parties — Mizo National Front and Sikkim Democratic Front — get one seat each and they are partners in NDA as of now.
The survey does not give any seat to Congress or its alliance in these two states either. Interestingly, the yet to be published survey was circulated internally by none other than the Congress party itself here.
