Union Minister inaugurates golden jubilee of Lyngngam HS School

NONGSTOIN: Union Minister of State for Water Resources Vincent H Pala has stressed on for primary education.
Inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of Lyngngam Higher Secondary School of Mawthengkut, near here, Pala said people should not do business in the name of education.
The Shillong MP lauded the efforts of the management of the school for running it for the past 50 years saying “it is a quiet tough for a management to run a school for such a long period.”
He said imparting quality education is an important component of corporate social responsibility.
Pala laid the foundation stone to mark the inauguration of the golden jubilee of the school.
Earlier, Rev A.Nongbri in his welcome address expressed gratitude to Pala for accepting the invitation to inaugurate the golden jubilee celebrations of the school.
Stating that the school does not have proper infrastructure facilities, he said it urgently needs a building.
The celebration was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Rowell Lyngdoh, MDC F.K.Ryntathiang, S.Diengdoh, Jt Director of School Education, Maysalin War, former Health Minister, ex-MDCs, ex-students besides others.
To encourage the students of the school, Pala promised to give tablet computers to those students who secure 60 percent parks in their annual and final examination from class-IV to Class XII.
The Union Minister donated Rs 10 lakh to the managing committee of the school for construction of the Building.
Local MDC F.K.Ryntathiang and Rowell Lyngdoh donated Rs 1 lakh and Rs 5000 respectively.
