SHILLONG: Claims worth Rs 12,113,614 have been reimbursed under the MHIS IV in convergence with Pradhan Mantri Arogya Yojana (PMAY) from February 1 to May 13.
A report on the scheme said that altogether 4431 patients have submitted claims amounting to Rs 3,07,07,235 while claims of Rs 2,38,791 were rejected and that the total pending amount is Rs 1,48,46,856.
It also said that some hospitals like Roberts Hospital and Hope Clinic have no hospital registration certificate and hence they couldn’t be empanelled. Other hospitals like Tura Christian Hospital and Dr Normal Tunnel Hospital are not willing to be empanelled until the claims are settled due to the high rejection of claims during the last phase.
As of May 20, 613,986 families have been verified whereas 613,276 have been approved, which adds up to 191,494 families having been verified.
According to the report, major issues impacting the registration drive are dependability of internet, the nature of online registration portal, Beneficiary Identification System, electricity and power cut-outs, weather conditions and low turnout of beneficiaries, especially in East Khasi Hills, West Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills.
Some measures have also been taken up to improve registration figures, which include development of route plans to ensure that all serviceable areas are visited to register beneficiaries and deployment of additional 170 kits bringing the total number to 300.
The registration drive and date has been extended from May 31 to August 31.
District performances are measured every week based on the registration capacity achievable as per the kits allotted to them. Targets are set based on the previous trends of registration speed.
Power backup facilities such as generators, inverters, etc. have also been provided.
