SHILLONG: Three boys from Rilang Children’s Home belonging to the first batch who passed with flying colours in HSSLC, were felicitated on Wednesday.
The Children’s Home chose the occasion of World Environment Day to felicitate them and celebrate the day.
Among the three boys, two secured first division with 75 percent each and another secured second division with 58 percent.
During the function, Chief Guest Meena Kharkongor, the chairperson of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, congratulated the three boys who had successfully passed the HSSLC examination and also wished them a bright future.
Thomas Malai, the guest of honour, urged everyone to take care of the environment by planting more trees and take care of the existing trees and especially not to burn or throw plastic into the open space.
The staff and children of Rilang Children’s Home said they are proud of the three boys who successfully passed the HSSLC examination and also happy to celebrate the environment day.
