SHILLONG: With the controversy surrounding the issuing of No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Assam government by heads of Hima Nongspung, an executive committee member of Dorbar Hima Nongspung, Nonlandro Lyngdoh have demanded from the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) the immediate suspension of Syiem of Hima Nongspung, Petrick Syiemiong.
It may be mentioned that Hima Nongspung was in the news after it was alleged that the Syiem and the secretary, Michael Warjri issued NOC to the Assam government for the construction of the PMGSY road at New Balakhowa, Ri-Bhoi district.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, executive committee member of Dorbar Hima Nongspung, Nonlandro Lyngdoh said Syiemiong has washed his hands off the contentious issue and blamed Warjri.
The two threatened to move the High Court if the KHADC does not pay heed to their demand.
Lyngdoh criticized former CEM HS Shylla for not paying attention to their complaints which was filed on August 24 and December 20, last year.
