Inter-school art and quiz competition held in city
SHILLONG: Vintage United Sports and Cultural Club organised the Inter-school Art and Quiz competition in the city. The winners of the Art and Painting competition included Ansika Roy of Step By Step School, Chian Salgrik D Sangma and Arnav chettri of Laban Bengali Boys LP School, Abhinav Roy of Seven set Higher Secondary School, Ritesh chettri of Laban Bengali Boys Higher Secondary School, Minu kumara and Uma Thapa of Balika Hindi Vidyalaya Secondary School, Shagun Roy of Army public School and Rajesh Das and Noyal Malakar of Lumparing Vidyapith Secondary School.
The first prize winner of the Quiz competition was Laban Bengali Boys Higher Secondary School followed by R. B Anoopchand Hindi Higher Secondary School (second) and Balika Vidyalaya Secondary School (third).

MGU, NABARD observe World Environment Day
SHILLONG: Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya in collaboration with NABARD, organised a painting and essay writing competition with great fervour and gaiety to mark the World Environment Day at the university premises on June 7.
Almost 50 students from Savio Higher Sec School, Don Bosco Higher Sec School and St Jude Sec School participated in the competition thematised on ‘air pollution’.
Activities like plantation of saplings and discussion on environmental issues were held.
University Vice Chancellor Mohan Bhattacharya, Registrar Dr Nayanmoni Saikia, Nabard District Development Manager Kamzalian Tomging, Nabard Manager Ambiga Radhakrishnan and university staff inspired the students to build a greener world.
