Poachers threaten forest staff

SHILLONG: Three unidentified poachers threatened the forest staff at Narpuh Wildlife Sanctuary, a delayed report said.
Shanbormiki Law, Range Forest Officer, Umkiang Wildlife Range in East Jaintia Hills , Jaintia Hills Division, lodged a complaint that on February 2 at about 12.30 pm, during a joint patrolling by staff of Ratacherra Wildlife Beat and Sonapur Wildlife Beat at Narpuh Wildlife Sanctuary, they encountered three unidentified poachers with a dead ‘Serow’ along with arms.
When the forest staff attempted to apprehend the poachers, they threatened them with dire consequences.
