SHILLONG: Former ANVC-B leader Bernard Marak has said the representation of GSU (Tengsak faction), FKJGP, ADE and AYWO to the West Garo Hills DC alleging his resort to be a den of nefarious activities, is an evidence of their ill intentions and the reason behind the arson attack.
“No matter how much they deny, their own misdeeds are revealed. The complaint was drafted by “Nilpa”, well known as “Dagrangpa” and submitted in the name of the NGOs”, Marak said in a statement on Tuesday.
He said these NGOs are trying to create law and order problem by not allowing smooth functioning of the government and added that some of them are hiding at Nilpa’s residence.
” My resort is a source of livelihood to many families. Why they are targeting my establishment alone is where the actual probe should be”, he said.
Stating that his resort and other establishments are well maintained, Marak said law of the land prevails and he knows how to manage his business.
He said before disbanding, the place was the camp of ANVC-B cadres which was later developed into a tribal resort to sustain his cadres who did not get the rehabilitation packages.
“The threat to hold a public meeting against my farm would only expose their supporters and instigators who helped them in an arson attack. Anybody who participates with GSU, FKJGP, ADE and AYWO would be included in the new FIRs which we will file in the coming days”, he said.
He also pointed out the leaders are illegally running their organizations
“Tengsak is not an elected president of GSU. ADE is registered under societies act but they are working as a pressure group. Dalseng is not local and he is residing in an irrigation quarters. FKJGP has been banned by people of Tura during MBoSE issue but Pritam is running the organisation against people’s mandate. AYWO has no constitution nor do they have any office”, Marak said.
